Taiwan signs agreement to transfer US$2 million to EBRD

On 5 March 2018, Representative Lin and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Vice President Pierre Heilbronn signed an agreement to transfer US$2 million from the government of Taiwan to the TaiwanBusiness EBRD Technical Cooperation Fund. The signing took place at the EBRD London headquarters. After the ceremony, Representative Lin and Vice President Heilbronn held a lunch meeting to exchange views on how to further mutual cooperation in the future.
Taiwan’s cooperation with the EBRD dates back to the Bank’s establishment in 1991. As one of the largest donors and most reliable partners of the Bank, Taiwan is committed to helping the EBRD carry out its transition mandate in its countries of operations. Taiwan also shares technical expertise and developmental experience with the EBRD’s countries of operations, as Taiwanese experts are retained by the bank to engage in a wide range of projects.
