Crowds of music lovers were refreshed by the tranquillity of Taiwanese tea June 17 & 18 at the biggest summer event in London this year, West End Live. The Leicester Square event offered two days of free West End entertainment amid a host of interactive exhibits and performances.
The Taipei Representative Office organised a marquee promoting Taiwan’s culture and tourism and gave away hundreds of samples of traditionally brewed Taiwanese tea while distributing free DVDs and leaflets. Hundreds queued up for a free cup of Eastern serenity, and before leaving the marquee, many asked where they could go for more. “You’ll have to come to Taiwan” was the answer.
If you missed this taste of Taiwan, you’ll have another chance to sample the island’s rich culture when the Taiwan Festival 2006 comes to Brent Cross Shopping Centre Sept 25 - Oct 1. Keep your eye on our website for more details.
