On 21 November, a launch event for The Venture Capital State: The Silicon Valley Model in East Asia was held at the Economists’ Bookshop, jointly owned by the Economist and the London School of Economics. In her book, Lecturer in Political Economy at King’s College London Dr Robyn Klingler-Vidra highlights the success of Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore’s venture capital policymaking. She argues the success of these countries reflects their skill in adapting a highly-lauded model to their local contexts. The launch event also featured a discussion of the book and its impact in the field of venture capital and public policy. A chapter from the book titled "Taiwan: Private Sector Promoter” was successfully translated into Mandarin through the funding of the Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation.
