The islands of Penghu situated in the Taiwan Strait west of the main island of Taiwan have in recent years become a popular venue for international water sport events. From September 30 through October 5, Penghu will host the Corona "King of Wind"Sailing Regatta featuring 49er sailing boat class races.
The event is backed by the ROC Tourism Bureau and supported by additional sponsors, the sailing event will be bigger than last year with more sailors taking part and more spectators expected to come and watch world-class athletes mastering wind and waves.
