E-commerce businesses, real estate agencies and luxury hotels are the leading services innovators in Taiwan, according to Taipei City-based Institute for Information Industry May 15.
In a 2014 innovation survey conducted by III’s Innovative DigiTech-Enabled Applications and Services Institute, it was found that the use of pioneering digital technologies has overhauled Taiwan’s traditional services industry.
Leaders in this field include CTBC Bank Co. Ltd., Grand Hi-Lai Hotel Kaohsiung, President Starbucks Coffee Corp., Scoot Pte Ltd., Taiwan Realty Co., W Hotels Taipei, Yung Ching Realty Group and online retailers 7net, Books and Go Happy.
While e-commerce businesses boast advanced deployment in digital applications, luxury hotels and real estate brokers have seen considerable progress in offering innovative services due to rising consumer demand, IDEAS said.
A standout feature is the omni-channel approach, which integrates physical and virtual platforms to facilitate a seamless consumer experience.
This strategy has been widely adopted across Taiwan’s services sector on the back of a high smart device penetration rate, according to IDEAS, which projects an even stronger presence of mobile applications in business-consumer interactions going forward.
