Computex Taipei, the largest information and communications technology trade show in Asia and second largest in the world, gets underway June 3-7 at Taipei World Trade Center.
This year’s exhibition focuses on docking devices, mobile computing, intelligent technology, touch displays and wearable smart devices, according to organizer Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA).
The latest statistics reveal that around 1,700 firms from home and abroad will set up a record 5,000 booths at the annual show, with TAITRA forecasting an attendance of 40,000 foreign buyers.
Prominent participants include Advanced Micro Devices Inc., Broadcomm Corp., Intel Corp., Microsoft Corp. and Qualcomm Inc., all from the U.S., as well as local heavyweights such as AsusTek Computer Inc., Delta Electronics Inc. and MediaTek Inc.
In addition to product launches, the exhibition includes business matchmaking sessions and forums on 3-D printing, big data, design, intelligent living, Internet of Things, mobile technology and technology disruption.
The show also features addresses by renowned executives such as Microsoft Vice President Nick Parker, Arm Ltd. Executive Officer Simon Segars, Acer Inc. founder Stan Shih and MediaTek Chairman Tsai Ming-kai.
As a warm-up for the exhibition, TAITRA is holding an international news conference June 2 to announce the 47 winning entries for this year’s Computex d&i Awards.
