In order to further strengthen educational cooperation between Taiwan and the United States, as well as to promote Taiwan’s high-quality Mandarin language instruction, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of China (Taiwan) signed an MOU with the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) to establish and implement a “Visiting (Mandarin) Teachers Program” and a “Students and Educators Exchange Program.”
Both sides consider that such kinds of collaboration will be able to offer mutual benefits in the field of education. It is also expected that the above two programs may provide participating students and educators with bilingual and multicultural skills and understanding that will enhance their capacity to achieve future personal, academic and professional success, so as to foster knowledge and appreciation of bilateral culture.
We believe that this education cooperation between Taiwan and Maryland will create one of the significant foundations for helping prepare a globally competent young generation to succeed in tomorrow’s world.
