TECRO Representative Bi-khim Hsiao, CEO Adam Boelher, U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), and Deputy Director General Betty Hu, from the Ministry of Economic Affairs jointly announced on August 6, 2020 a new partnership on the 2X Women’s Initiative under the White House’s Women’s Global Development and Prosperity Initiative.
As Representative Hsiao mentioned in her remarks that “Taiwan will support training programs under the 2X initiative, which seeks to advance women’s economic empowerment, and nurture the full potential of women as contributors to equitable growth and sustainable development in their communities”.
Taiwan and the DFC have continued to exchange ideas and explore opportunities to help develop infrastructure and enhance capabilities for countries in need. Over the past year, both sides have cooperated to encourage women-led SMEs in Paraguay, and help women build more sustainable livelihoods in Asian countries.
