NC Secretary of State Elaine Marshall attended Taiwanese American Heritage Week performance

North Carolina Secretary of State Elaine Marshall and her husband were invited by Director General Vincent Liu of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Atlanta to attend the Taiwanese American Heritage Week program on May 18 at NC State University. The program featured Formosa Circus Art from Taiwan.
NC Taiwanese community leader Yih-Shin Tan, who is an Overseas Community Affairs Council Commissioner, announced the opening of the evening’s program. DG Liu elaborated on the origin of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and Taiwanese American Heritage Week, and praised the local Taiwanese community. Secretary Marshall also thanked Taiwanese immigrants for their contributions to every aspect of the state of North Carolina.
Formosa Circus Art delivered a great performance combining culture and acrobatics. It received cheering and applause from the full-house audience. More than 700 people enjoyed the wonderful program brought by these young men and women from Taiwan.
