Foreign nationals, who hold ordinary passports or other travel documents, intend to stay in the R.O.C. (Taiwan) for more than six (6) months for the purpose of joining family, pursuing studies, accepting employment, making investment, doing missionary work, or engaging in other permissible activities.
Duration of Stay
Resident Visa holders are required to apply for an Alien Resident Certificate (A.R.C.) at the city/county police headquarters nearest to their residence in the R.O.C. ( Taiwan ) within 15 days after their arrival. They may stay in the R.O.C. ( Taiwan ) as long as the A.R.C. remains valid.
If your application is sent by mail, a self-addressed envelope with return postage by Priority mail or Express mail is required (stamps only, no meter postage.) If you use FedEx, UPS, the return label must includle alpplicant's mailing address as both sender and recipient address. Please do not put TECO in Atlanta address on return label.
Visa Validity
A Resident Visa is valid for three months.

If your application is sent by mail, all fees must be paid by money order or cashier check (Payable to TECO in Atlanta) . No personal checks will be accepted.
Starting from April 9, 2012, ROC visa applicants need to first access the website: https://visawebapp.boca.gov.tw, fill out the visa application forms online and then print them out. The completed forms with bar codes and other required documents ought to be submitted to the ROC’s overseas missions which the applicants have selected while filling out their application forms. The offline application forms will no longer be accepted.
