Director Wellington Shih and Deputy Director Eric Chao, on behalf of TECO-Boston, attended the Sixteenth Annual Induction and Dinner held by the Rhode Island Aviation Hall of Fame in Cranston, Rhode Island on the evening of November 17. Director Shih presented Certificates of Honor and Citations to the families of two deceased U.S. Air Force servicemen deployed in China to help combat Japanese aggression in Asia during World War II.
TECO-Boston was the only foreign official agency invited to attend the event. A variety of souvenirs, pamphlets, and brochures were available at the TECO-Boston booth for guests. “People Centered, Joint Happiness,” a video produced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, R.O.C. (Taiwan), provided an update on Taiwan. Director Shih and Deputy Chao spoke with guests on the history of the ROC-US military alliance in China during the WWII and updated them on current political, economic, cultural, and technological developments in Taiwan. Approximately 200 guests, including military, honoree families, and others from across Rhode Island, attended the event.
