Representative Chen Chien-jen Will Visit Brandeis University on January 21, 2003 to Give a Lecture

Representative Chen Chien-jen of Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO) will come to Western Boston on the invitation of Brandeis University, arriving for his visit on January 21,2003 and meeting with University President Jehuda Reinhartz. After taking lunch with the President, Representative Chen will arrive at the Shapiro Campus Center at 2:00 p.m. where he will speak to students on the topic of Developments in Cross Strait Relations, followed by a question and answer session.
Representative Chen is a graduate of National Chengchi University in Taiwan and studied abroad in the United Kingdom at Cambridge University, receiving his degree in International Law. He has since served as Specialist, Section Chief, Division Director and Director-General of North American Affairs, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Representative for TECRO Washington, D.C., Director-General of the Government Information Office, Executive Yuan, and Minister of Foreign Affairs. His political experience is truly comprehensive. Representative Chen has served here in America for two years now and, owing to his breadth of experience in international affairs, R.O.C.-U.S. relations have entered a new era.
