The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Boston, in conjunction with the Framingham Public Library in Massachusetts, hosted “Taiwan Sublime” a photo exhibition at the Framingham Public Library from December 17-28. The photo exhibition culminated in a performance by the Chinese Folk Art Workshop (CFAW) and a reception on December 28th.
Before the performance, Town Selectmen Charles Sisitsky and Town Manager Robert Halpin welcomed Director General Anne Hung and thanked her for helping to create a cultural exchange between Taiwan and Framingham. Also, Selectmen Sisitsky a citation of recognition signed by all 5 Framingham Selectmen.
Director General Hung offered special thanks to the Framingham Public Library for making the photo exhibition and the event possible. She spoke of how the photographs can offer people a chance to see a glimpse of Taiwan’s natural beauty and culture.
Following the speeches the CFAW, a group made up of young Chinese-American students, put on a performance featuring a dragon dance, Chinese yo-yo, Taiwanese drums and other traditional Chinese cultural dances. The event was attended by approximately 250 local residents.
