The Maine State Senate passed the Resolution to Reaffirm Friendship between Maine and Taiwan unanimously again on March 28. Director-General Jonathan Sun and Deputy Director Eric Chao of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Boston (TECO-Boston) were invited to attend the ceremony and received compliments of all Maine State senators. The resolution was jointly proposed by State Senate President Troy Jackson and House Speaker Rachel Talbot Ross.
In addition to agreeing that the relationship between Taiwan and Maine should continue to be strengthened, it also expresses support for the signing of a bilateral trade agreement (BTA) between Taiwan and the United States, as well as Taiwan’s international participation.
TECO-Boston sincerely appreciates the friendship of the Maine State Senate and will continue to actively strive to strengthen and deepen the cooperation between Taiwan and Maine.
