On the evening of September 21, Director- General Charles Liao and Mrs. Liao, Director Kao of the Overseas Community Affairs Center, and Deputy Director Doris Wang were delighted to join the 7th annual Taiwan Film Festival of Boston (TFFB) reception at CitizenM Hotel. Guests included Massachusetts State Representative Tram Nguyen, Boston City Councilor Ed Flynn, Medford City Councilor Justin Tseng, and many others. Before the reception, everyone enjoyed watching the inspiring film Doubles Match.
Director-General Liao expressed special thanks to this year’s three co-chairs—Jay Tsai, Tzu Ying Chuang, and Jerry Lin—and their highly professional team, whose hard work has made the festival grow bigger each year and bring more heartfelt Taiwanese stories across the Pacific to Boston. He also warmly thanked Deputy Director-General Li-Lan Hsieh of New Taipei City’s Information Department, along with directors Yung-Han Chang, Shu-Mei Huang, Yi-Ching Lin, and Chien-Hung Lien, for traveling all the way to join the event.
This year, TECO Boston also provided 100 complimentary tickets for Boston Public School families, so that more local friends could share in Taiwan’s culture and stories through film.
