Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Honolulu hosted the 2018 Republic of China (Taiwan) National Day Reception at the Pacific Club on October 8. Around 350 guests attended this annual celebration. During the opening remarks, Michael Tseng, Director General of TECO in Honolulu, said, “as a result of almost 7 decades of its people’s hard work and their unfailing aspirations for a better society, Taiwan is now widely recognized to have a sustainable economy, a vibrant democracy, and a civil society.” Director General Tseng also mentioned that Taiwan and Hawaii tied the knot of sister-state relationship in 1993, and this year is its 25th anniversary. He believed through various kinds of exchange activities, bilateral relationship would be further strengthened and consolidated.
