The city government of Taichung, Taiwan, R.O.C. is offering multiple cash prizes to winners of this year’s 18th Annual Taichung City Da Dun fine Arts Exhibition. The spirit of the competition is to enhance international cultural exchange, while promoting creativity in the arts and art appreciation. Entrants are asked to submit works in the following categories: Crafts, Sculpture, Digital Art, Photography, Printmaking, Water Color Painting, Oil Painting, Glue Color Painting, Seal Engraving, Calligraphy and Ink Wash Painting. The entry must be the artist’s original work and cannot have received awards in other competitions.
1. Entries for first review: Please send in by registered mail your application form, 8 x 10 inch photos, other relevant documents to the

2. Entries for second review: The names of those finalists who pass the first review will be published on the website of Cultural Affairs Bureau of Taichung City Government. Moreover, the organizer will also send a notification letter to each of them, requesting them to send in the original artwork for the second review to Taichung City Dadun Cultural Center (40359 No. 600, Ying Tsai Road, West District, Taichung City /Dadun Art Gallery One, Taichung City Dadun Cultural Center) between June 15 and June 17, 2013.
3. 11 entry categories include crafts, sculpture(including three-dimensional mixed media), digital art, photography, printmaking, water color painting, oil painting(including acrylic, mixed media), glue color painting, seal engraving, calligraphy and ink wash painting
4. Eligibility: The competition is open to all domestic and foreign artists
(1) The entry should be an independent creative work by the artist within the past two years. Everyone is welcome to send only one piece to compete in each category.
(2) Entries involving plagiarism, copying, and ringering shall be disqualified and prohibited from participation in the next three years.
(3) Artworks (including those made in series) that have won any award or selected for exhibition in any open call art exhibition are not allowed participating in this competition.
5. Award Presentation Ceremony will be held at the Zhongshan Hall, Cultural Affairs Bureau, Taichung City Government on the afternoon of October 26, 2013(Saturday).
6. Exhibition of winning artworks will be held at the Taichung City Dadun Cultural Center between October 26 and November 13, 2013
