Sculpture Exhibition from Taiwan featured at Houston Museum of Natural Science (HMNS)
The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Houston has a proud tradition of working with prestigious institutions in Greater Houston and the Southern United States to share the best of Taiwan. Treasures in Gold & Jade: Masterworks from Taiwan is the latest exhibition from Taiwan to visit Houston museums, and will run from September 17, 2021, until February 6, 2022.
Director-General Robert Lo and Mr. Joel Bartsch, President of the Houston Museum of Natural Science, participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony on September 16 to launch the exhibition. Director-General Lo extended his gratitude and appreciation to the Houston Museum of Natural Science for helping TECO share these works of art with the local community and visiting tourists.
The exhibition contains over 40 pieces of exquisite gold and jade sculptures – the works of two of Taiwan’s premier artists, Wu Qing and Huang Fushou. The artists draw inspiration from their lives and nature to turn rigid media into stunning sculptures.
The exhibition is organized by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston, Taiwan Academy of the Ministry of Culture (Taiwan), the Bower Museum, and the Houston Museum of Natural Science.
