Fall in Taiwan…Asia Society's Mid-Autumn Festival Performance Highlights Regional Traditions Through Taiwanese Folksongs, the Techno Prince Parade dance, and more!
Nearly 1,000 guests attended the Mid-Autumn Festival Performance at the Asia Society Texas Center on September 19. Attendees of all ages learned about the traditions of different regions through beautiful music and dance.
An ensemble of Taiwanese folk songs was presented by Taiwanese Percussionist Tsai-Chien Lee & Pianist Szu-Ting Tseng. The performance was supported by the Ministry of Culture (Taiwan) and Taiwan Academy of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston. The Culture Center of TECO in Houston provided the Techno Prince Parade dance and storytelling on the origin of Mid-Autumn Festival with a cosplay of the Goddess in the Moon. The day's programs also included performances from different countries.
Taiwan Academy and TECO in Houston are delighted to work with Asia Society Texas to share the best and most beautiful aspects of Taiwanese culture and the Mid-Autumn Festival with the fine folks of Greater Houston!
