On September 20th, the 2025 Taiwan Agricultural Trade Goodwill Mission led by Deputy Minister Wen-jane Tu visited Little Rock, Arkansas, to sign Letters of Intent with the state government.
With Arkansas Secretary of State Cole Jester and TECO Houston’s Director-General Yvonne Hsiao as witnesses, Secretary of Agriculture Wes Ward and the Taiwanese business representatives announced that starting in 2026, Taiwan will purchase U.S. soybeans and corn products over four years, with a total value of $5.56 billion.
Secretary Ward noted that Taiwan is already Arkansas’s 5th largest agriculture export market, and this agreement means more opportunities for Arkansas farmers. Deputy Minister Tu reaffirmed Taiwan’s commitment to strengthening U.S. partnerships and creating prosperity for both sides.
