TECO in Houston Hosts the 114th National Day Reception Celebrating Taiwan’s Global Partnerships

The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Houston celebrated the 114th National Day of the Republic of China (Taiwan) with a reception hosted by Director-General Yvonne Hsiao at the Junior League of Houston on October 6. The event brought together more than 300 guests from political, business, academic, and community.
In her remarks, DG Hsiao highlighted Taiwan’s global leadership in semiconductors and UAVs, the nation’s growing economic and technological partnership with Texas and the United States, and Taiwan’s ongoing commitment to national defense and peace across the Taiwan Strait. She also noted Taiwan’s expanding agricultural cooperation with the U.S., including recent commitments to purchase over US$10 billion in American agricultural products.
The reception featured cultural exchanges, including a presentation by Taiwanese author Yang Shuang-zi and an art display by Houston artist GONZO247. Guests also received mooncakes in celebration of the Mid-Autumn Festival, and the event concluded with warm cheers of “Happy Birthday, Republic of China (Taiwan)!”
