May 29th, 2026 was the Houston Astros’ Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Night at Daikin Park and Director-General Yvonne Hsiao was stepping up to the mound!
Director-General Hsiao had the great privilege of throwing the first pitch for AAPI Heritage Night. To mark the occasion, the Taiwanese Association of America Houston Chapter organized a large group of Taiwanese compatriots, joined by eight Uni Girls cheerleaders from Taiwan, to cheer on DG Hsiao and Kai-wei Teng - a Major League pitcher playing for the Astros this season.
The Astros graciously invited DG Hsiao and colleagues to a pregame reception. We were quite pleased to meet with the Astros’ leadership and delighted at the opportunity to introduce Taiwan to all the Astros-loving attendees of Space City.
