Director General Yvonne Hsiao had the honor of attending the screening of “A Chip Odyssey” on May 26th. The event was organized by the Greater Dallas Taiwanese Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by EVA AIR, China Airlines, and the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD). Mayor Amir Omar of the City of Richardson and City Councilmember Bob Kehr of Plano joined nearly a hundred people for the viewing.
This event provided a great opportunity to learn about the early stages of Taiwan’s semiconductor development as well as its journey to becoming a world-class, top-notch industry. Producer Ben Tsiang was happy to engage with the audience, taking time to share his insights into the filmmaking process and creative vision behind the documentary.
In her remarks, DG Hsiao noted and praised the hard work, perseverance and resilience of the pioneers in Taiwan’s semiconductor industry. She also spoke on the productive and pragmatic cooperation in technology between Taiwan and the U.S. and looks forward to the continued development of a secure, non-red supply chain.
