The Taiwan Academy of TECO in Los Angeles, supervised by Taiwan’s Ministry of Culture, has joined forces with the Chinese Animation and Comic Publishers Association to present the "T-COMICS" pavilion at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) from July 23–26 at the San Diego Convention Center.
This year’s showcase features three acclaimed Taiwanese creators: PAJI, Kane, and Fish Wang. Visitors can meet them at the Taiwan Pavilion (Booth 5524) and in Artist Alley (Booth HH-19).
PAJI: A prominent BL (Boys' Love) romance comic artist known for hit titles like Desserts and Discipline and The Mafia Boss's Private Affair, which have garnered over 510,000 views on Taiwan's Mojoin platform and are now available in English.
Kane: A popular relationship and lifestyle illustrator who has captivated fans online for over a decade with humorous, relatable slice-of-life comics depicting couple interactions.
Fish Wang: A multi-award-winning animation director and comic artist (Gold Fish, Red Tail, Ghost of the Dark Path), currently expanding his graphic novel series Secret Whisper into feature animation and tabletop games.
Adding to the excitement, veteran Taiwanese comic creator Chang Sheng, who was once invited to be at the pavilion in 2023, has made history as the first Taiwanese artist to receive two Eisner Awards nominations—for “Best U.S. Edition of International Material–Asia” and “Best Writer/Artist”—for the English edition of Yan (Titan Manga). The winners will be announced on July 24.
In addition to creator interactions, the Taiwan Pavilion will showcase 35 selected manga and light novel titles from the Taiwan IP Showcase platform. Representatives from the artists' publishers are also attending to facilitate international licensing, media adaptations, and business collaborations.
Taiwan Academy in Los Angeles will also host a panel discussion, " From 0 to 50: Pro Tips for High Speed Webtoon Production and Studio Workflow," on Saturday, July 25, from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM in Room 25ABC.
