The hit Taiwanese documentary film Go Grandriders will screen again in Los Angeles again. To share with more LA audiences, the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles (TECO) and the Foreign Languages and Humanities Department of Los Angeles City College (LACC) will jointly screen this film on Thursday, April 25, 2013, at 7:00 p.m. at the Multifunction Room B, Student Union of LACC, 855 N Vermont Ave, Los Angeles. Admission is free and parking at Lot 4 is also free.
TECO jointly premiered this film with UCLA Melnitz Movies last March. Due to popular demand, TECO worked with LACC to present this great movie again.
The film portrays a group of ailing octogenarians who undertake a trip around Taiwan via motorcycle. The documentary follows the group’s 13-day journey and the hurdles they face along the way. Go Grandriders was released in October 2012 in Taiwan and broke box office records for a documentary film.
An American grandrider, Mr. Peter Starr, who was inspired by this film and initiated a group of American grandriders to travel to Taiwan to experience the same adventure, will attend the screening. Mr. Starr will share his experience and a QA session will follow. He is also the writer for Motorcyclist magazine and the producer of History Channel.
