UC Irvine will co-host the first annual Southern California-Taiwan Higher Education Forum on Friday Oct. 17. In partnership with the Ministry of Education in the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the Los Angeles Chapter of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, representatives from more than a dozen Taiwan universities will meet and network with international program representatives from multiple Southern California universities including UC Riverside, UCLA and UC San Diego, several of the local Cal State Universities, as well as USC, Chapman University, and California Institute of Technology. The director-general of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles is scheduled to speak.
UC Irvine collaborates in more than two dozen countries and international students from every corner of the globe. This event is expected to be the first in a series of international workshops that will cement the campus international scope. UC Irvine’s Office of Global Engagement welcomes international collaborations and seeks to advance the UC mission of education, research and service.
