Taiwan is the world's second-largest exporter of bike parts. Due to the increasing awareness of fitness and pandemic prevention in recent years, leisure recreation and environmental protection have become popular trends. In addition, the European and American governments have encouraged and subsidized their bicycle industries, thereby driving the export value of Taiwan's bike parts to increase 56.6%, reaching a record high of $2.52 billion in 2021.
The United States and European Union are the two largest export destinations of Taiwan's bike parts. Exports to Germany, the largest export market, increased by 76.9%, while exports to the United States and the Netherlands, the second and third-largest export markets respectively, increased by more than 48%.
