Taipei, Feb. 6 (CNA) Five Taiwanese films, including the romantic comedy "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow," will be screened at this year's Berlin International Film Festival.
"Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow," directed by Arvin Chen and starring Richie Jen, Mavis Fan, Stone and Kimi Hsia, has been included in the "Panorama" program of the festival, which opens on Feb. 7 and runs until Feb. 17.
The film, which will make its world premiere in Berlin on Feb. 9, is part of a lineup of 31 features from 23 countries that have been selected for the Panorama program, which is designed to provide insights into contemporary world cinema.
It is the second Mandarin feature film from Chen, a 34-year-old American of Taiwanese descent, following "Au Revoir Taipei," also a romantic comedy set in Taipei, which won the Best Asian Film Award from the Network for the Promotion of Asian Cinema at the 60th Berlin Film Festival.
Two other Taiwanese films released last year -- "Touch of the Light," by Chang Jung-chi and "Together," by Hsu Chao-jen -- will also be screened at the festival, in its 63rd year this year.
"Touch of the Light," which is part of the festival's "Generation" program, is about a girl who dreams of becoming a dancer and develops a friendship with a blind musician.
"Together," included in the "Forum" program, is about a 17-year-old boy and people around him who are falling in and out of love.
Taiwanese director James T. Hong's 10-minute short "Cutaways of Jiang Chun Gen-Forward and Back Again," about an elderly Chinese farmer infected by Japanese biological warfare in 1942, and his 55-minute installation art film "Apologies," will also be screened at the festival.
Thirteen Taiwanese film production companies will also attend the festival to promote their movies. A Taiwanese movie party is scheduled to be hosted on Feb. 10.
