The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York (TECO-NY) is pleased to announce that we will be accepting applications for the 2019 Huayu Enrichment Scholarship (HES) through March 31, 2019.
The Huayu Enrichment Scholarship is provided by the Ministry of Education to encourage international students to take short-term Huayu (Mandarin Chinese) courses in Taiwan.
Duration: 2 (summer classes), 3, 6, or 9 months
Monthly stipend: NT$25,000
Eligibility:
Applicants must be United States citizens at least 18 years of age, have a high school diploma or higher, possess an excellent academic record, and be of good moral character. TECO-NY accepts applications from the states of Connecticut, New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.
Application documents:
1. Completed application form;
2. Copy of U.S. passport;
3. Copy of transcript (highest degree);
4. Copy or proof of application at participating Mandarin language centers (please see attached list);
5. Two recommendation letters, each signed and sealed by its writer.
Application and supporting documents should be sent to the following address postmarked by March 31, 2019.
