The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York would like to invite all to join us for a virtual international forum on “Accelerating Women’s Economic Empowerment” on Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 8:30 am to 10:00 am (EDT).
We are honored to have Karin Strandås, Sweden’s State Secretary to Minister for Gender Equality, and Taiwan’s Minister without Portfolio Audrey Tang, among other experts and international NGO leaders, join us for a discussion on women's post-pandemic economic situation and international efforts to accelerate women's empowerment. Such efforts include the “Women’s Livelihood Bond” for Asia-Pacific countries and the “2X Women’s Initiative” for Latin America, in which both the United States and Taiwan participate. The forum will also look at Taiwan’s best practices in achieving the gender equality sustainable development goal.
The forum is jointly held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the Foundation for Women's Rights Promotion and Development, in conjunction with the 65th United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW 65).
The event will be live-streamed on YouTube. (Live-stream link: https://reurl.cc/GdjrZ3)
