The City of New York has officially released a statement today declaring a local state of emergency ahead of a severe snowstorm expected to impact New York City. To ensure the safety of New York City residents, city streets will be closed to non-essential vehicular traffic from 9 pm on February 22 to noon on February 23, 2026.
To respond to the city government’s emergency planning, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York will close on February 23, 2026, and the consular service will be suspended as well. If you need to reschedule your consular appointments, please utilize our online booking service.
