Director General Chen attended the reopening ceremony of Seattle Chong Wa Benevolent Association Playfield Mural

Seattle Chong Wa Benevolent Association, which was founded in 1915, hosted the mural reopening ceremony on July 17. The Association invited Director General Daniel Chen, Mayor Jenny Durkan, Senior Deputy Mayor Michael Fong, Police Chief Adrian Diaz, and Washington State Representative Sharon Tomiko Santos to attend the ceremony.
Mayor Durkan mentioned that the City government has been hosting series of events of “Welcome back Seattle”, and encouraged Seattleites to revisit China Town/ International District and shop at local stores. Director General Chen also stated that the history of the mural is over 30 years, and the office is delighted to see the vivid and reviving community under the efforts of the Association and volunteers.
