Director General Lai of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in San Francisco was invited to participate in the Rotary Club of San Francisco’s annual Thanksgiving E-meeting: A day of Thanks on November 17th, which was held virtually this year.

Director General Lai participated in the meeting in the form of pre-recorded video, who shared how Taiwan Model effectively combatted the pandemic through three crucial steps: prudent action, rapid response, and early deployment. He also noted the importance of Taiwan’s international role in battling the worldwide epidemic, citing Taiwan’s donations of tens of millions of masks and medical supplies to cities across the United States, including San Francisco. Director General Lai urged other American associations to join forces with the Rotary Club to curb the spread of COVID-19 and defeat the pandemic as soon as possible.
