Ambassador Peter Sha-Li LAN and Hon. St. Clair Prince, Minister of Health, Wellness and the Environment of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines have signed the Implementation Arrangement for the Public Health Emergency Response System Enhancement Project in SVG, officially launching the Project on 2 November, 2021.
Amb. Lan told the press that the Project aims at enhancing Public Health Emergency Response System in SVG. Although the preparation period for the Project was prolonged due to COVID-19, its launching came at the right timing, since there is great need for the Public Health Emergency Response System in SVG to cope with future challenges and reinforce the bilateral technical cooperation.
Minister Prince said in the interview that the Project will last for 4 years and the total budget is estimated to be 1.8 million US dollars. It provides training programs to equip police personnel, firefighters and healthcare workers etc. with necessary knowledge and skills to deal with emergency cases. Minister Prince also expressed his sincere appreciation to the Government the Republic of China (Taiwan) in supporting projects like this kind to benefit the people of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
