On August 28, Ambassador Fiona Huei-Chun Fan was pleased to bring Taiwan’s Youth Ambassadors to Bequia for a day of cultural exchange, friendly basketball, and meaningful connections with the local community!
At the Charles Adams Anglican Secondary School and the local basketball court, Ambassador Fiona Fan and Head of Delegation Andy Liu led a series of exciting cultural and sporting activities, joined by Deputy Secretary-General Pei-Fen Hsieh, Principal Nicole Glynn, Principal Tauran Ollivierre, Bequia Basketball Association President Sabrina Mitchell, and many other local friends.
Through vibrant cultural performances featuring acrobatics, traditional sword dancing, and Taiwanese songs, our Youth Ambassadors shared Taiwan’s rich cultural heritage and creativity with nearly 120 students and community members. In return, students from the Charles Adams Anglican Secondary School brought the spirit of the Caribbean to the stage with lively and energetic dances!
The celebration continued on the basketball court, where young athletes from Taiwan and Bequia came together for a friendly match organized by President Sabrina Mitchell. Ambassador Fan and Deputy Secretary-General Hsieh also joined students and teachers on the court, turning the game into a memorable moment of fun, teamwork, and friendship.
In the afternoon, the Embassy accompanied the Youth Ambassadors on a visit to the Bequia Heritage Museum, where they explored the island’s fascinating history and cultural heritage, gaining a deeper appreciation of the rich stories that connect our communities.
Through the Taiwan Youth Ambassador Program, we are proud to create opportunities for young people to step beyond borders, broaden their global perspectives, and share Taiwan’s passion, creativity, and energy with the world.
A day of exchange may come to an end, but the friendships built along the way can last a lifetime. While Taiwan and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines may be thousands of miles apart, our friendship knows no distance.
