本處賀代表忠義於本（111）年8月25日在本處主持台灣獎學金暨華語文獎學金授獎典禮，邀請各獎學金受獎人、家長及台灣之友會（Taiwan Alumni Association, TAA）代表參加，雖南非仍有新冠疫情威脅，仍有5名受獎學生、10名家長及TAA成員4人不畏疫情前來參與，其中亦有學生專程從台灣返斐參與本次典禮，足見其重視程度。
賀代表首先歡迎並恭喜所有現場受獎人及家長的踴躍參與，並簡介台灣政經現況，及我之地理環境、多元文化、民主價值、學術自由及活躍之經濟；嗣表示台灣為民主國家，人民友善熱情，交通便捷，此讓國外友人到訪後均對我讚譽有加，流連忘返，相信各位受獎人到台灣後亦會愛上台灣；祝福所有受獎人學業順利，也相信渠等台灣之旅將豐富渠等之生命，渠等在台也將爲多元台灣注入更多活力。
現場家長代表們均致詞表達感謝台灣提供獎學金給南非學子，並感謝台灣對南非持續的支持。TAA會長，現任全國非洲農會(National African Farmer Union, NAFU)秘書Ntombikayise Matjene出席致詞，分享5年前赴台學習之經驗，鼓勵在場學生善用本次獎學金在台灣學習，並為將來台斐交流擴大基礎。
頒獎典禮時5位獎學金受獎人依序唱名上臺領取本處製發之證書，並發表獲獎感言。斐京華僑公學畢業的Mashiane Refilwe説著一口流利地道的中文，還帶有一點點親切的台灣腔，她很感謝這次獎學金的機會，終於能到台灣就讀國立臺北大學並能實用中文。Bongekile Nonhlanhla Buthelezi特別專程從台灣返回斐京參加本次典禮，並將在隔日赴台攻讀國立台灣大學GMBA碩士，本處亦及時提供便利之領務服務，助伊典禮結束時順利取護照與簽證及時赴台。渠等均表示對獲得我獎學金至感珍惜並感謝，並均表示將善用獎學金在台努力學習。

Representative Anthony Chung-Yi Ho, on behalf of Taiwan Government, hosted the 2022 Taiwan Scholarship and Hua Yu Enrichment Program Scholarship Ceremony on August 25. The awardees, and their family members and Taiwan Alumni Association (TAA) were invited to celebrate this very special occasion for the talented learners. Despite the Covid – 19 Pandemic, many students with their family members and TAA members participated the event.
Representative Ho welcomed the awardees and thanked them to come during the pandemic time. Representative Ho then introduced Taiwan to the group and extended best wishes to all the awardees to study well and have fun in Taiwan.
Family members were also invited to speak. They shared with the group about the stories of the learners on how they came to like Taiwan and wanting to study in the country. They were grateful to the scholarship opportunities Taiwan has provided to the awardees and thanked the continued support that Taiwan had given to South Africa. The TAA president Ntombikayise Matjene, from National African Farmer Union (NAFU) attended the ceremony by sharing about her experience in Taiwan 5 years ago. Her stories gave the awardees a picture from the perspective of a South African.
5 Awardees were given the award certificate by Representative Mr. Ho. Mashiane Refilwe, recipient of 2022 Taiwan Scholarship Award, graduated from Pretoria Chinese School, could speak excellent Mandarin, with a lovely “Taiwanese-like” accent. She was very excited to go to National Taipei University to study Accounting and finally put her Mandarin and Taiwan accent to practical use. Bongekile Nonhlanhla Buthelezi, recipient of 2022 Taiwan Scholarship Award, specially returned from Taiwan for the ceremony. The consular service of the Taipei Liaison Office assisted her to acquire visa in time to enable her to depart for Taiwan the next day to attend National Taiwan University GMBA program. All awardees were very glad and happy to be awarded with the scholarship and promised to study well in Taiwan.
