You can apply for a passport at the Bureau of Consular Affairs (BOCA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Taipei or at its branch offices in Taichung, Kaohsiung and Hualien. If you are traveling or residing abroad, you can apply for a passport at the nearest ROC mission overseas (See ROC Embassies, Consulates and Representative Offices information).
You need to submit the following documents and fee when applying for your passport:
1. A completed passport application form (the form can be downloaded)
2. Your ROC national I.D. or certificate of ROC nationality
3. Two identical passport photos (2x2 inches, color)
4. Other relevant certificates that may be required by BOCA or ROC overseas missions
5. A fee of US $45 or its equivalent in the local currency (for male under the age of 15, and female under the age of 14, the validity of the passport will be 5 years, and the fee is USD 21 or the equivalent in local currency)
