The Taiwanese Association in Southern Africa will again hold its annual Taiwan Carnival on the 30th of April, 2017 from 10h00 to 16h00 at the Pretoria Chinese School (654 Halse Street, Wingate Park, Pretoria).
The Carnival gives festival-goers the unique opportunity of experiencing and immersing themselves in Taiwanese culture, all the while enjoying the sights, smells and tastes of the small island with the big heart.
The cultural program will include Taiwanese Aboriginal performances, a Taiwanese food fair, a Taiwanese cultural stand and for the first time ever, a Taiwanese culinary demonstration. Associate Professor Tony Huang from Taiwan will show off his gastronomic skills and share some of his best Taiwanese cooking secrets.
Among some of the popular and most-loved Taiwanese dishes on offer will be beef noodle soup, stinky tofu, oyster omelette, popcorn chicken and bubble tea.
The Carnival promises a fun-filled, culturally enriching day for the whole family with a jumping castle for the little ones, karaoke and a lucky draw, with many amazing prizes to be won!
Entrance to the Carnival is free and open to all members of the public.
