- In accordance with the latest visa policy of the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan), effective immediately, tourist visa applications from Sri Lankan nationals will no longer be accepted.
- Sri Lankan nationals may still apply for a visa if the purpose of travel falls under one of the following categories:
- Official invitation by a government agency of the Republic of China (Taiwan)
- Exchange activities
- Visiting relatives (within the third degree of kinship)
- Business
- Crew member joining a vessel in Taiwan
- Medical treatment
- Applications under the above categories shall be processed ONLY by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Center in Chennai or the Taipei Representative Office in Singapore.
- Required documents:
- Application forms
- Two passport-size (45 mm in height and 35 mm in width) photos in color within 6 months
- Documents from the guarantor in Taiwan (authenticated by the Bureau of Consular Affairs, a domestic branch office, or an ROC overseas mission);
- Copy of the guarantor's Republic of China (Taiwan) National Identification Card
- Copy of passport biographical page
- Police Clearance Certificate
- Proof of financial capability
- Proof of accommodation in Taiwan
- Return air ticket
According to Article 12 of Statute Governing Issuance of Taiwan (ROC) Visa in Foreign Passports, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) of the Taiwan (R.O.C.) or Taiwan overseas missions are not required to give any reason to a visa applicant for refusal.The above information is subject to the official announcements of the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of China (Taiwan).
