To authenticate Death Certificate issued by the Queensland or Northern Territory Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages, please refer to the following requirements and submit your application in person or by post.
Requirements:
- Applicant (and representative, if any) must complete and sign the Application Form for Authentication and provide the original hardcopy.
- Original Death Certificate (Standard Version) issued by the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages in Queenslandor Northern Territory.
- The applicant’s (and representative’s) original valid passport(s). ROC citizens must present valid ROC passport(s) or National ID Card(s). For applications by post, please photocopies of your passports/ID instead.
- The original ROC passport of the deceased, or a passport/ID if the deceased was not a ROC citizen.
- A prepaid self-addressed Registered Post or Express Post return envelope for the return of the authenticated documents.
- Authentication Fee:
- AU$22 per document for 5 business days standard application; or
- AU$33 per document for 1 business day urgent application.
Payment Method:
- Lodge in person: cash only.
- Postal applications: Money Order or Bank Cheque payable to the "Taipei Economic and Cultural Office, Brisbane". (Personal cheque will not be accepted.)
- Collection: Collect in person or provide a prepaid self-addressed Registered Post or Express Post return envelope for the return of the authenticated documents.
Please note:
To complete death registration in Taiwan, an authenticated Chinese translation of the QLD/NT Death Certificate is usually required alongside the original Death Certificate. Please check with the local authorities that you will be using this certificate (e.g. Immigration Office or Household Registration Office in Taiwan) for confirmation. If a Chinese translation is required, the translation has to be in Traditional Chinese and can be done either in Taiwan or in Australia. The authentication fee for Chinese Translated document is AU$22 per document.
