Taipei Economic & Cultural Office participated in the Brunei International Travel Fair to promote tourism

With a view to promote Brunei tourists to visit Taiwan, Freme Travel Service Sdn Bhd, which joined the "Familiar Trip" on the "Tour Taiwan 100" in February 2011, was organizing the "Freme Travel Fair" international fair at Radisson Hotel, BSB from April 28 to 29, 2011. Besides providing "rental-free" exhibition booth, it also invited Representative Ting to deliver speech and introduce the scenic spots of Taiwan.
Representative Ting emphasized on "Taiwan, Touch Your Heart – Brunei's Ideal Tourism Destination in Asia" by using the multimedia presentation to introduce beautiful Taiwan. Brunei is a Muslim country, in order to let Muslim to understand more about Taiwan, the booklet entitled "Traveling in Taiwan for Muslims" was distributed during the exhibition. This Office will be organizing the "Taiwan Halal Food Festival" with Royal Brunei Catering from June 6, 2011 for 2 weeks to introduce Taiwan Halal cuisine in hope to encourage more Muslims to visit Taiwan and strive for restoring the direct flights between Taiwan and Brunei.
During the exhibition, Taiwan booth was located at the entrance and had attracted many visitors to stop by. Mr. Cheng, Administrative Officer of this Office, was responsible to answer the public for traveling to Taiwan and had received good response. All the displayed traveling materials were being taken, the organizer had printed the "Republic of China Centenary Foundation" logo on the exhibition banner, which helps to enhance the image and visibility of our country and also to promote the tourism between Taiwan and Brunei.
