With a view to strengthening the bilateral relations and promoting the good friendship between Taiwan and Brunei, the Government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) has agreed to grant Bruneian passport holders visiting Taiwan Visa on Arrival (VOA) for a period of up to 14 days with effect from January 1, 2013.
Holders of Bruneian passport with validity of more than 6 months are freely to choose either to apply for a visa in advance through our Office or to apply for VOA upon arrival at Taoyuan International Airport, Taipei SongShan Airport, Taichung Airport or Kaohsiung International Airport, Taiwan.
Passengers who enter the Taiwan thruong the Taipei Song shan Airport, the Taichung Airport and the Kaohsiung International Airport shall apply for "temporary entry permit" at Border Affairs Corps of National Immigration Agency. To avoid getting a bad record in Taiwan, the holder of this permit should apply for a visa as soon as possible at the Bureau of Consular Affairs or at the either of the branch offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affaires in Taichung or Kaohsiung. The holder will need to submit his/her passport, temporary entry permit when applying for the visa.
In the event of a long national holiday, the holder may apply for a visa at the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport Visa Office, Bureau of Consular Affairs.
They are requested to provide the following documents upon arrival at any of the said airports.
1. A confirmed return air/sea ticket or an air/sea ticket and a visa for the next destination, or a confirmed sea reservation for departure.
2. A duly completed visa application form and 2 passport-size photos.
3. Visa Fee at NT$1,600.00 (U$50.00) plus a handling fee at NT$800.00 (US24.00)
4. No criminal record or not prohibited by the local authorities in Taiwan.
The Bruneian Government has granted Taiwanese passport holders visiting Brunei Darussalam VOA for a period of up to 14 days since June 4, 2011. It is hoped that by mutually granting VOA, the citizens of Taiwan and Brunei are expected to travel more conveniently and also to enhance development of the bilateral relations in trade and culture between the two countries.
