The 2025 Toronto TOCFL exam is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 11, at 2:30 PM at the Culture Centre of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Toronto (888 Progress Ave., Scarborough, Ontario, M1H 2X7, Canada).
Registration is open from March 10 to April 11. Individual registrations are only accepted online (https://tocfl.edu.tw/OS/index.php). For group registrations of 10 people or more, please contact the Education Division of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in Canada. The test is open to all interested individuals.
This year's TOCFL consists of four levels. In addition to the Band A, Band B, and Band C (each with two sub-levels), a new Novice level has been added, which is simpler than Band A. The exam fees are the same for both traditional and simplified character versions:
Novice Level: CAD $20
Band A, Band B, and Band C: CAD $40
Candidates who pass the TOCFL test will receive a certificate issued by the Taiwan Ministry of Education. This certificate serves as an important reference document for Canadian students applying for the Taiwan Scholarship and Huayu Enrichment Scholarship. TOCFL certificates are also required of overseas Chinese students for admission to many academic programs at colleges and universities in Taiwan.
The exam is available in both traditional and simplified character versions. Interested individuals are encouraged to register before the deadline. For any inquiries, please contact the Education Division of TECO in Canada.
