Toronto TECO hosted “Taiwan Night 2020” to celebrate the Lunar New Year on Friday, Jan 31 at 6:30 pm at TECO’s Culture Centre. More than 100 people from the Taiwanese communities in the GTA attended the celebration ceremony hosted by the CCCO. To celebrate the New Year’s Day of 2020, the Chinese Community Centre of Ontario (CCCO) raised the national flag of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in the morning of January 1, 2020. Many representatives including politicians from three levels of the governments, international friends and overseas Taiwanese community joined the celebration of the National Day Reception. TECO Toronto hosted the 108th National Day Reception at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto on October 4th. Together with the guests, DG Hsu cut the cake and toasted to the 108th birthday of the Republic of China (Taiwan)! The Ontario Chapter of the Veterans Association of the Republic of China (VAROC) attended the Annual Warriors’ Day Parade. The R.O.C. Veterans Association in Toronto (ROCVAT) attended the Annual Warriors’ Day Parade on August 17th at the Canadian National Exhibition (CNE) in Toronto. They showed their full energy and spirit in representing the Republic of China veterans while holding the national flags of the ROC and Canada and marching in the Warriors’ Day Parade. The Cambridge Food and Wine Society, founded in 1988 by professor Leo Chan, held a special award ceremony at the TECO Toronto office to recognize awardeess’ contributions to Asian culture and Canadian multicultural exchanges. DG Hsu, Dr. Yi-Chun Chien of University of Ottawa, and the founder of Parka Food Co., Eric Chao were awared by the Cambridge Food and Wine Society.
