中華民國內政部移民署全面實施「外來人口個人生物特徵辨識系統」

The operation of Biometrics Verification System for Foreign Visitors

移民署「外來人口個人生物特徵辨識系統」於102年12月18日起於高雄小港國際機場試營運，針對年滿14歲外來人口(外國人、大陸地區人民、香港及澳門居民及臺灣地區無戶籍國民)於入出境時錄存及辨識個人生物特徵識別資料，並規劃於103年度擴大適用全國各主要機場、港口。

National Immigration Agency(NIA), Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of Republic of China (Taiwan) launched the trial operation of Biometrics Verification System for Foreign Visitors at Kaohsiung International Airport on December 18th 2013. Foreign visitors aged more than 14 years old, including people from Mainland China, Hong Kong and Macao residents, and nationals without household registration, are required to have their biometrics collected and verified when arriving and departing Taiwan. NIA will also deploy the system to all main airports and seaports on 2014.

「外來人口個人生物特徵辨識系統」將錄存比對旅客照片及雙手食指指紋，藉以防止偽(變)護照者、冒用他人身分者及不法分子入出國境。實施本系統可輔助查驗官更有效率及更準確進行人別比對。

This system will collect and verify foreign visitors’ photograph and fingerprints of both index fingers to prevent the use of fraudulent documents, prevent identity theft, and stop criminals and immigration violators from entering and departing Taiwan. Implementing biometrics verification at border allows immigration officers to determine visitors’ identity faster and more accurately.
