Taiwan’s Tseng Chun-hsin won the Wimbledon boys’ championship on Sunday in 3 sets. This is his second grand slam junior win after the French Open last month. Tseng is the number one ranked male junior player in the world.
Tseng won over British player Jack Draper 6-1, 6-7 (2/7), 6-4. Tseng had to overcome a twisted ankle that happened during the exhibition match. He also overcame the challenges of playing a rival in his home court by focusing on how to win the game. He told reporters he was so focused at times he could only hear his own breath.
The 16 year old Tseng will play at the U.S. Open next month and the Youth Olympic Games and then plans to join the professional tour next year.
