Due to the increasing number of cases of the Wuhan coronavirus (2019-nCoV) from China, Taiwan's Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) has called a cross-ministry meeting on 25 January about Chinese travellers visiting Taiwan and announced the following control measures:
1. All Chinese from Hubei Province are banned from entering Taiwan.
2. For Chinese people who are from provinces other than Hubei, all applications to visit Taiwan for the purposes of tourism, social and professional exchanges or medical services will not be accepted until further notice. Those who have been granted permits should postpone their travel to Taiwan. Those who have been granted entrance to Taiwan for the purposes of sharing knowledge and research relating to epidemics, providing humanitarian medical services, family reunions, professional postings to Taiwan-based firms, or working in the invest and management sector (including accompanying persons) should undergo self-quarantine for 14 days.
3. Chinese students are banned from entering Taiwan from now until 9 February.
4. Applications to visit Taiwan for the purposes of business exchange, except for those fulfilling services required by contract and those transferred to Taiwan branches by international enterprises (including accompanying persons) will not be accepted until further notice. Those who have been granted entrance to Taiwan should undergo self-quarantine for 14 days.
5. All Chinese spouses (including those travelling from Hubei province) entering Taiwan should restrict their residency to one location and undergo self-quarantine for 14 days.
6. Mini-three-links: All applications under the “Mini-three-links” (including social exchanges, art, business, study and travel purposes) to visit Kinmen, Matsu and Penghu will not be accepted. Those who have been granted permits should postpone their travel until further notice.
7.All Chinese from overseas:All applications to visit Taiwan for the purposes of tourism will not be accepted from 00:00 AM 27 January until further notice. Those who have been granted permits should postpone their travel to Taiwan. From 00:00 AM 27 January, all Chinese from overseas are banned from entering Taiwan for tourism purpose.
