Visa-Exempt Entry:

FINNISH PASSPORT HOLDERS who intend to stay in Taiwan up to 90 days don't need to apply for a visa. 

Those who have entered Taiwan visa-free for purposes that do not require a permit—such as engaging in tourism, visiting friends or relatives, attending social events, conducting business, attending exhibitions, and engaging in fact-finding missions or international exchanges—who then intend to engage in activities that, according to the laws and regulations of relevant agencies, do require a permit must still obtain such a permit. Those who intend to enter Taiwan for purposes that require qualifications, such as religious work, must obtain a visa from an ROC overseas mission before entering Taiwan.

Requirements for Visa-Exempt Entry:
(Please note that you must meet all the requirements specified in the information page before travelling to Taiwan.)

1. a passport with remaining validity of at least six months as of the date of entry
2. a confirmed return ticket or a ticket and a visa for the next destination, and a confirmed seat reservation for departure
3. not determined by immigration officers at ports of entry in the ROC (Taiwan) to be otherwise inadmissible.
4.  You must complete and submit  a "TAIWAN ARRIVAL CARD" on the website of the National Immigration Agency (https://twac.immigration.gov.tw) within three days prior to arriving in Taiwan from 1st October, 2025.
   Note: "TAIWAN ARRIVAL CARD" is Free of charge.

Landing Visas:

1. Holders of Turkish passport with validity of more than six months.
2. Holders of emergency or temporary passports with validity of more than six months for nationals of those countries(except for US) eligible for visa-exempt entry.

Nationals from the following countries must fulfill the packaged procedures：

Afghanistan, Algeria, Bangladesh, Bhutan,  Cambodia, Cameroon,  Ghana, India (Identity Certificate Holder),  Iraq, Laos, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Senegal, Somalia, Sri Lanka and Syria.

Entry Permit for citizens from China, Hong Kong, and Macao:

Citizens from China, Hong Kong, and Macao must apply for an Entry Permit instead of a general visa to travel to Taiwan. For more information, please visit: 大陸港澳人士入台許可證申請辦法

ROC Travel Authorization Certificate for citizens of Southeast Asian countries:

Citizens of India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos can apply for the ROC Travel Authorisation Certificate for short-term tourism/business purposes.

Visa Types: 

1. Visitor Visas, for those who intend to stay in the ROC (Taiwan) for no more than six months.

2. Resident Visas, for those who intend to stay in the ROC (Taiwan) for more than six months.

* Resident Visa holders are required to apply for the Alien Resident Certificate (ARC) and Re-entry Permit at local service center of the National Immigration Agency within 15 days from the next day of their arrival. They may stay in the R.O.C (Taiwan) as long as the Alien Resident Certificate remains valid.

* A Medical Check Form(docx/pdf/odt) is requested upon review of an application for resident visa. Legalization of Medical Check Form is also required.

We do not accept applications from overseas. Applicants must be residing in Finland at the time of application.

2. You can send it via professional agent (or a friend/family member), or
3. You can send it by post (Finnish/EU Passport Holders Only)

General Requirements for Visa Application:

Fee, Method of Payment and Processing time:

The visa fee should be paid before applying for the visa and the receipt of the payment should be enclosed together with the application. The applicant's full name should be mentioned in the receipt.

* We do not guarantee the processing time; individual cases may require longer periods, depending on particular circumstances and the complexity of the case.

Collection:

1. In person or by an agent (by appointment only)
2. By post: Applicant must provide a self-addressed and stamped (with real stamps, no franking stickers) return envelope, Finnish addresses only.
   (The psotage has been adjusted since 1st September, please make sure that you have sufficient postage. Otherwise, we won't mail it back to you.)

Important Information: 

Note 1

During processing, a visa officer may request further procedures and supporting documents, including document authentication and an interview.

Note 2

For Mandarin studying, applicants must apply a visitor visa from the Office, including citizens who are eligible for visa exempt entry to Taiwan.

After completing the first term of study in Taiwan, applicants may apply to the Bureau of Consular Affairs for a resident visa, without having to leave Taiwan. For details, please visit the Bureau of Consular Affairs' website.

Note 3

It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure all requirements as specified above have been fulfilled. Applications made without sufficient supporting documents will result in delayed processing times or being denied a visa. Incomplete applications will be returned without processing.

Note 4

We do not shoulder responsibility for any service not provided by the Office, such as those by the post office, delivery service providers, agents hired by the applicant etc.

Note 5

We cannot accept responsibility for any postal delays which may affect the timely processing of your visa application and therefore strongly recommend that such applications be made in person.

Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 12:00 and from 13:00 to 15:00.

Excluding Finnish Public holidays, ROC National Day (10th October) and Lunar New Year's Day.
