Qualification of Applicants
1. Being UK citizens physically residing in the UK at the time of application;
2. Having never before obtained a YMS resident visa to the Republic of China (Taiwan);
3. Being between 18 and 30 years of age, inclusively;
4. Not planning to be accompanied by dependents during the time in Taiwan; and
5. Having submitted all required documents.

Visa type
YMS visa is a single entry resident visa valid for up to 3 months from the date of issue, the duration of stay in Taiwan is 1 year from the date of entry into the country.
What you need to do after entering country
YMS resident visa holders must enter Taiwan before the visa expiry date, and apply for a one-year Alien Resident Card (ARC) and a Re-entry Permit at local service centres of the National Immigration Agency after entering Taiwan. For more information on ARC, please contact the authority directly.

The TRO reserves the right to request additional supporting documents, such as an employment letter, school letter, police record, an interview, etc., depending on the circumstances of each application after submission.

Important information
- It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that all requirements as specified above have been fulfilled. Applications made without sufficient supporting documents will result in a delayed processing time or being denied a visa. Incomplete applications will be returned without processing.
- Visa issuance is an act of sovereignty. The TRO has the right to withhold disclosure of further explanations regarding visa approval or declination in accordance with laws and international practices. Visa fee is non-refundable.
- During processing, the visa officer may request further procedures or supporting documents, including document authentication and an interview.
- The TRO does not accept responsibility for any service not provided by the TRO, such as those by the post office, delivery service providers, or agents hired by the applicant etc.
